Korean Percussion Ensemble Course for Credit
at the University of British Columbia
Sep 2018-Apr 2019
Taught basic Korean traditional percussion technique and repertory to a class of 22 undergraduate students who had no prior experience
Kept attendance and performed other administrative duties to comply with university protocol
Created my own transcriptions to help students learn new pieces
Liaised with third parties to coordinate extracurricular performance opportunities
Led a final hour-long performance to showcase the students’ efforts over the year
Korean Drumming

Taught Korean traditional drumming online and in person
Taught small groups (8-12 students) once a week in 6-week rotations
At the end of each 6-week rotation, recorded a short performance video to be shared with students’ friends and family

Taught Korean drumming to 3rd-6th graders at a Chicago Public School in 2-hour sessions once a week
Helped students learn and memorize samulnori signals and routines
